But, it is not a big matter of concern as you can reset your Roku remote to get the issues resolved.
Roku has two remote types they are the Roku Simple Remote and the Roku Enhanced Voice Remote. Hence, the steps to reset the remote will vary slightly. Irrespective of the remote type, you can fix the problems within a few minutes.

How to Reset Your Roku Simple Remote
This method is to reset your simple Roku remote that works on Infrared.
1. Power off your Roku device and remove the batteries from your Roku remote.
2. Clean the battery compartment and re-insert the batteries.
3. Next, turn on the Roku TV
4. Try to control your Roku device with your simple remote.
Note: Remember that the Simple Roku remote doesn’t have a pairing button.
How to Reset Your Roku Enhanced Remote
1. Initially, remove the batteries from your Roku remote.
2. Next, plug out your Roku device from the HDMI port of the TV. If you use Roku TV, turn off the power source, and remove the cable.
3. Wait for 3-5 minutes. Turn on your Roku device by connecting to the HDMI port or the power cable to the source.
4. Insert the batteries back into your remote.
5. Press and hold the Pairing button on your Roku remote. Release the finger till you see the status light flash green.
6. You can also see the Pairing prompt on your Roku TV screen. If you don’t see it, bring your Roku remote closer to your TV.
7. Release the Pairing buttons once you see the process completion indication on the TV screen.
8. The Roku remote will be paired and check whether it works fine.

It may be due to the drained batteries. Repeat the above-mentioned process by inserting new batteries into your Roku remote. The remote should work now.
You can find the Reset or Pairing button on the battery compartment of your Enhanced remote.
To reset your Roku TV without a remote, locate the Reset button on the side panel of your TV and press it until your TV is turned off. By doing so, the Roku TV will restart after performing a reset.
