Twitter is a popular social media platform where you can post and interact through short messages called Tweets. Unfortunately, the Twitter or X app is not available on the Roku Channel Store. However, you can watch tweets and videos on Roku by mirroring your Android, iPhone, or PC screen. This article explains the possible ways to get the Twitter app on your Roku-connected/powered TV.
Screen Mirror Twitter on Roku
If you wish to screen mirror Twitter on Roku from your Android phone or Windows, you need to enable the screen mirroring on Roku. After enabling the feature, install the Twitter app on Android phones (Play Store) and Windows (Microsoft Store). Launch the app on your device, and sign in to your Twitter account. Connect your Roku device to the WiFi network, the same as your screen mirroring device, and follow the steps below to watch Twitter videos on your Roku screen.
Android Phone
- Swipe up/down on your Android phone screen to bring the Notification Panel.
- Click the Cast/Smart View/Screencast option and select your Roku device from the list.
- Once you see your Android device screen mirrored on your TV, access the Twitter (X) app on your smartphone and play any videos to stream on your big screen.
Windows PC
- Press the Windows and K keys together on your Windows keyboard to bring up the toolbar.
- On the menu displayed at the left bottom of your PC screen, choose the Connect tile.
- Your PC screen will look for nearby devices. From the scanned devices list, click on your Roku device to pair it with your PC.
- Once paired, open the downloaded Twitter app and stream any content. It will be simultaneously played on your TV.
AirPlay Twitter on Roku
The Twitter app supports the built-in AirPlay feature. So, you can use this feature to AirPlay the Twitter videos on the Roku TV. If you wish to watch the feeds, you can screen mirror your Apple device to Roku. To do either of these, you need to enable AirPlay on Roku and install the Twitter app on your Apple device.
iPhone/iPad | App Store |
Mac | Mac App Store |
After installing the app, open it and log in using your Twitter account. Then, play any video, click the AirPlay icon in the media player, and choose your Roku device from the list. Alternatively, open the Control Center on your Apple device and click the Screen Mirroring icon. If prompted on your Apple device, enter the AirPlay code that is shown on your Roku TV screen.
Once done, the chosen video will be played, or your entire Apple device screen will be mirrored on your TV. Now, you can watch the Twitter feeds or videos on your Roku TV screen.
